Wolf Moon Sky
A Short Bio
Wolf Moon Sky is a ‘one man band’/’DIY artists’ featuring a
guy by the name of Chris MacDonald. Chris was born in
a small rural town in northern New Brunswick, Canada in July of 1971
and has lived all over Canada having spent most of his adult life
in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This past year has seen him return to rural
life in northern NB.
“I’m
all about country livin’ man; I’d rather be surrounded by trees than
people any day of the week.” --chris
Wolf
Moon Sky (known as Wolf King from 2001 until recently)
is hard, power-chord, pagan rock n’ roll with influences ranging from
The Doors to Danzig to Circus of Power.
“Basically I consider myself a singer/songwriter;
I’m a half-assed guitar player, drum programmer and producer; but
to record the songs I wanna record, I’ve gotta do it all by myself.
Guitar players get on my nerves man, I had a couple in through the
years to collaborate and it was just too fuckin’ irritating.”
--chris
As
Wolf King, Chris released his first full length CD on
November 1, 2003 entitled, “Paganwitchgirl” but shortly after
he released it he relocated to Alberta and worked as a roughneck on
the Oil Rigs for several months. “No computers in the oil fields baby,
nothing but work and sleep; so I never really had a change to promote
it or anything.”
"A
sonic Goth Rock masterpiece that exceeds all expectations that one
could have for a DIY artist. A few more things that could spark your
interest about this guy is the fact that he plays all the instruments,
sings all the vocals and writes all the lyrics! Not to mention, this
entire cd was recorded on a home computer, I am astounded by such
a feat!"

Then
in the Autumn of 2005 he released a 5 song EP titled, “Black Maggie”
which showed vast improvement in recording techniques and guitar playing.
The song ‘Black Maggie’ appeared on Antidote Records
2006 compilation, “Under
The Radar: Volume I”
Now,
as Wolf Moon Sky, he continues to write and record, promising
a new EP sometime in the Fall of 2006.
“I
changed the name to Wolf Moon Sky for a lot of different reasons,
I want to try some different things, not just straight up power chord
rock every song. Right now, I’m working on a couple of Doors covers
and some new stuff.” --chris
Wolf
Moon Sky has recorded a version of the Misfits “Hollywood
Babylon” for the Hedonism Records upcoming, “Icons of
the Underground, Vol I: Glenn Danzig”.
WMS is currently upgrading the ‘home studio’; new guitar, mic
